Born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 8, 1941, Bernie Sanders is a good Democratic presidential candidate who seems to be set on winning the election in November.

Ever since 2007, he has been serving as the junior Senator of Vermont and is also known as the longest-running independent in Congress, during his time in the House of Representatives, in which he had no affiliation to any political party at the time.

As of March 1, there are eight presidential candidates still running for the presidency in 2020, with only two being Republicans. Out of all the other candidates, Bernie Sanders is one of the few who isn’t made of money, as he relies on his supporters for his chance to compete with the bigger and more powerful candidates, such as Mike Bloomberg, who has a net worth of about $56.2 billion dollars.

As do the other candidates, Sanders has several goals that he believes would benefit the United States as a whole, and one of the most notable ones would be his signature plan of “Medicare-for-All.”

Rather than paying thousands of dollars in medical bills, Bernie Sanders wants to have everyone in the United States have free medical care, allowing them to have the same benefits as countries such as Canada. Gone would be the days of the private insurance system, and in its place is a universal program run by the federal government.

Most of his plans are available on his website, berniesanders.com, which gives out a brief description of his merits, what his goals are as a president, while also having ways to donate and help his campaign out. Although he is the oldest candidate out of the eight remaining, it also means he has a good amount of experience in politics, which would help him tremendously as president.

He fights passionately for the people and is trying to find a votership from younger audiences, young adults who are the future of the country, as there are many who could help him in his campaign for presidency.
