One of Segerstrom High School’s teachers, Mr. Gordon is retiring. Gordon taught art as an elective. One thing that he will miss most from teaching at Segerstrom is he will miss inspiring his students to truly appreciate what he was able to teach them. Mr. Gordon will also miss being a member of the teaching community and being able to participate in teaching young people to live a positive life.

Some plans that Mr. Gordon has for retirement is to really concentrate on making his art, recording and writing more music, as well as traveling and meeting new people.

“I am also looking forward to being able to experience a new stage in my life,” says Mr. Gordon. He also wants to do the things he loves like spending time with his loved ones.

Mr. Gordon has left some advice for some new teachers: to try to be understanding with everyone they meet whether they are teachers or students because everyone has a strong desire to be loved and understood. Another piece of advice he has for students and teachers is to understand that everyone needs to be appreciated as their own special person, and, consequently, we all need to do our best to treat them that way. Mr. Gordon’s last piece of advice is to understand that everyone makes mistakes.
