On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, Segerstrom High School baseball hosted Senior Night. During Senior Night, the senior players played the entire game. Each player was announced one by one before the match started. 

Bruno Banuelos, Zander Bretza, Benny Aguilar, Kenny Gallardo, Jose Lozano, Christian Galaviz, Deven Landrum, Nicholas Valdez, Kenny Caboda, Eddie Lopez and Max Garza were all recognized before the game started. Each player walked down the field with their family to take pictures. They were announced one by one while people in the stands cheered. 

“I am excited for league to start because it is my last year and I just really want to do good,” says Eddie Lopez (12).

As each player was being announced, the player was gifted a basket filled with goods from the head baseball coach. The players were preparing to play their first league game on March 15, 2022.

“I am really excited for league because I think we have potential to get to CIF. I think we have a shot at winning CIF,” says Kenny Gallardo (12). 

After a tough game, the Segerstrom Jaguars sadly fell short to San Juan Hills. Although they didn’t win the match, they were all still grateful for their recognition.

“ I was kind of sad that we lost but it’s alright. It was a pretty close game and we all played hard,” says Benny Aguilar (12).
