On April 8, 2022, a high school party turned deadly as two teenagers were stabbed overnight. The stabbings were a suspected gang related attack. 

At 11:40 pm on Friday, the Santa Ana police department received a call and several reports of a victim that was stabbed at 1600 E Palm St. The teenage boy’s identity has not been released to the public.

“I think it’s really sad that something like this happened at a high school party. It seems like teens can’t have fun without some sort of violence surrounding us,” says Brianna Urena (12).

When officers arrived at the scene, the boy was in a driveway suffering from an apparent stab wound to his upper body. The paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:46 am.

“This is the first time I heard of this and it honestly shocked me. I can’t believe something like this happened to someone so young,” says Faith Ledesma (10).

The other teen was fatally stabbed and was in critical condition when arriving at the hospital. The family of one of the victims made a Go Fund Me to help with their expenses. 

“I heard about this from a friend on Snapchat and it was really sad. It’s scary to think that this happened in our own city,” says Christopher Zamora (11).
