On Friday, October 25, 2024, we celebrated senior night for many different sports. The sports and VAPA organizations celebrated this night included cheer, song pom, football, colorguard, and band. It was a great experience for these seniors.
Senior night is an event where seniors have a day of their season where friends and family come to cheer them on, coming to watch them either perform or play in their games. They come with signs, photos, flowers, and many other gifts. Depending on the sport, a ceremony takes place either before or after the game where the seniors are recognized and walk with their families.
For this senior night, it was a little more special than others, especially since this night hosts different sports or VAPA while others only have one sport or VAPA that they focus on. For this senior night, they had every senior line up against the gym with their families as it was time to walk onto the field. They first called up the seniors from colorguard, then followed up with senior band members. Leading right after was song pom, then cheer, and finally football. They walked from the gym to the Jaguar tunnel, where the announcer declared the seniors names and who they were walking with. They took a photo there and headed towards the area where underclass cheerleaders and song pom students cheered them on and continued walking through the flower arch where they took their final photo and headed to either to their team or the area where vapa would be performing.
Senior night has been a long time tradition in every school and truly special to the seniors celebrating their last year and all the hard work they had put towards the programs they’re in. It’s a special moment to know that they have all of this support and acknowledgement towards their dedication to getting to this point in their lives. Seeing what their next chapter in life holds for them makes this celebration extra special for our seniors.
