Streaming on Netflix, Outer Banks season four introduces a new treasure hunt for the pouges as they come back and try to live a normal life. The pouges and kooks are back on the Outer Banks in this two-part season. This season starts off with pouges finally having some money after season three, enough to build a home for themselves, pay off debts and start up a small business where they sell fishing gadgets and bait. We can see them sort of wanting to restart their life and make it better, but as we know with pouges, it doesn’t always stay that way.
All the characters are back for this fourth season and we have an opportunity to see some relationships that we barely got to experience at the end of season three, Rafe and Sofia- who is also a pouge- JJ and KIara, and Pope and Cleo. Of course, we can’t forget John B. and Sarah are still going strong after the end of season three, even after we witness both their fathers death. Despite this tragic event, their relationship is still thriving this season, and we get some unexpected news from them that could change their life.
Rafe is mourning the death of his father Ward and avoiding Sarah, Kiara’s parents are still not happy with her. The pouges and the kooks still haven’t gotten along and split on the island. The town awarded the pouges for their discovery of the El Dorado Gold. Just as they are trying to get used to their life back on the island, someone asks them to look for something. This treasure might be more meaningful to one the pouges than the others and they might be affected by it.
All together there are ten episodes. The first part released five episodes and the second part released the rest of the season. It was about a month long wait to wait for part two. The running time for each episode is around 42-85 minutes, some episodes being longer than others.
Overall, this season is filled with so much action and there are many suspenseful moments throughout the show. Unexpected villains, allies teaming up, and characters finding themselves. Even a tragic death from a beloved fan favorite character in the final episode, which many fans were not happy about the killing of this character, and this death will completely change the course of the show for its final season. This means that in the next season, their hunt for treasure will be just more than money. Maybe revenge?
