Our Camera Engineer Kandy Cruz is set to pursue her future in dental. She has accomplished much here in Segerstrom from being a part of clubs and being an honor roll student. Kandy has been a Journalism staff member for only a year, however contributed so much and helped Word On The Street production. Everyday she walks in with a smile and boosts the morale of her classmates. She proceeds to learn in journalism and plans to use these wonderful skills she learned to help her when she rides off to her bright future.
1) Tell me about yourself.
Hello, my name is Kandy Cruz and I am currently a camera engineer for WOTS and the reason why I enjoyed this class would be due to the fact I enjoy seeing different perspectives. And this class has allowed me to go through many experiences and I am honestly so thankful to Mrs Confetti for giving such an opportunity to join such an amazing class. I would have to say that my character could be perceived as shy but once you get to know me I enjoy joking around with my friends and creating such silly memories. Not only do I enjoy this class but I also enjoy meeting new people and conversing with them although from afar I may not seem friendly, I am quite the opposite and hope to spread peace and love. As for my interests I would like to say that I enjoy writing book reviews and listening to commentary videos as they speak my interests as well as I enjoy playing mobile games, especially Call of Duty. I feel like I spend my time on there. I also enjoy eating out so much, such as the korean corndogs and boba.
2) What is your favorite memory at Segerstrom?
I would have to say that I really enjoyed my small moments with my friends at Segerstrom in which we made countable small little vlogs in which partook a part of my day making it memorable. I was able to enjoy my freshman year with my friends as I joined multiple clubs and was able to meet new people who have played a role within my experience here at Segerstrom.
3) How has your high school experience here in Segerstrom shaped you?
I feel like high school has shaped my career path as thankfully due to a CTE course I was able to find my passion for dental and pursue a career within the field and it has also motivated me to pursue a higher level of education. Not only that but it has allowed me to become someone who I can look back at and appreciate my work.
4) What are your plans after graduation?
My plans for high school are to continue my learning at OCC in order to learn more about dental assistants and continue to learn and possible transfer to a UC or Cal State in order to pursue either dental hygiene or orthodontist. I hope that I will be able to have an opportunity to pursue both and have multiple titles to rely on.
5) What is one piece of advice you would give to incoming freshmen?
A piece of advice I give to the freshman would be to avoid procrastination and it’s okay to not be okay and it’s always best to rely on others rather than to be undercover.
