Ariana Grande has started selling tickets for her upcoming 2026 Eternal Sunshine Tour which centers around her 7th studio album released last year, but the attainability of tickets has caused a lot of backlash due to the high amount of tickets being made unavailable to fans as a result of high resale prices.
Tickets were originally being offered on Ticketmaster with the use of a queue to ensure that a fair amount of people are able to log in without crashing the site. This is a common practice used for higher demand events, especially concerts.
Fans, however, found themselves stuck in the virtual line for hours, and by the time they finally got in to be able to buy their tickets, there were no more tickets left. They were forced to turn to scalpers.
Scalpers are people who buy items for retail price and resell them later for a much higher price. These scalpers did the same with the Eternal Sunshine Tour and many fans were not happy about it, with some claiming there should have been a system in place to make sure only fans had access to buying tickets.
The tickets themselves went on sale on Tuesday, September 9th, then Grande responded to the backlash 4 days later on Saturday, September 13th on an Instagram story.
She started her response by saying, “hi my angels, i have been on set all week but I wanted to let you know that what’s been happening with the secondary ticket resellers has been brought to my attention and of course i am incredibly bothered by it,”
She further reassured her fans by stating, “i’ve been on the phone every second on my free time fighting for a solution. i hear you and hopefully, we will be able to get more of these tickets into your hands instead of theirs. it’s not right.”
She then concluded her message by saying, “i just wanted you to know that my team and i see it and that i care very much and we will do, and are doing everything we can. i love you all so much and thank you for your patience and understanding.”
The tour is expected to continue as planned with 36 total dates starting on June 6, 2026 in Oakland, California and ending on August 6, 2026 in London, England.
