After one year of being part of Segerstrom News, Haven contributed her talents by being this year’s cartoonist. Haven really enjoyed being creative and trying out new different crafts. They love doing art, drawing, trying new crafts, and just doing their own thing. Haven is ambivalent because they are a very shy person but once you get to know her, they become very talkative and a really good listener. And if you were able to see her talents in sketching you would be in awe of the beautiful works they create.
1) What is/are your favorite memory(ies) of Segerstrom?
My favorite memories would be the first time I met my friends. Meeting my friends always has its special moments, especially because of how much they show their personality now. Meeting my favorite teachers has its special moments as well because I always have fun talking with them now.
2) How has your high school experience at Segerstrom shaped your life?
My high school experience has shaped my life in a positive way. I am more comfortable with relying on friends and teachers to share things. I would say I am less shy than I was in middle school and I am more open with people, friends and peers. I also have a bigger friend circle than I had in middle school. I am more confident in public speaking, and I learned how to be more reliable to my friends, giving the best advice I can.
3) What are your plans after high school graduation?
My plans after high school graduation would be to continue my art journey, maybe earn money from commissions. I will also continue the early stages of writing a story of one of my original characters and their adventures. If possible, I want to create a 3D animation of this story and turn it into a series. I want to devote my full time to my art and create something that others will love and relate to. Aside from art, I’m learning to drive and getting a job to save money and go to Disney.
4) What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?
Don’t ditch class. If your parents are like mine, coming to the U.S to give you a better life, why waste that opportunity? It’s pretty lame.
