Our editor and staff writer is set to pursue a career in accounting. Throughout these four years of high school he has accomplished many video productions with his journalism classes. Although Jose only took two years of journalism he created an impact with his classmates, teacher, and his videos. It has been a class he enjoys and had a blast!
1) Tell me about yourself.
Hello, my name is Jose. I am currently a staff writer in Advanced Journalism. Something about myself is that I love films, specifically old Hollywood films. I enjoy joking around with my friends on Fortnite and beating my cousin Jonathon on Siege 1v1’s. I love listening to artists such as Neil Young, Marty Robbins, and Bruce Springsteen. My favorite songs I’m listening to right now are “Mexico” by Brian Keane, “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young, “Run Like the Devil” by Evan Bartels, “The Big Rock Candy Mountain” by Harry McClintock, and “The Highwayman” by the Highwaymen, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash.
2) What is your favorite memory at Segerstrom?
I would have to say that my favorite memory at Segerstrom is my freshman year biology class, my crush was in there. Another favorite memory of mine would be my junior year photography class with my friend Eli and journalism class with Mrs. Conferti because it was a delightful class having so many memorable people and nice teachers. Senior year I formed the black licorice club with Mr. Gaming, messing around with my friend Michael in college algebra. And hanging out with dukertons after school.
3) How has your high school experience in Segerstrom shaped you?
I changed a little bit, especially sophomore year. After that year I got more mature, after that year I enjoyed the little moments more and I learned to enjoy the moments between the problems. Otherwise problems is all you have.
4) What are your plans after graduation?
I plan on going to Santa Ana College and getting a job as well as getting a car.
5) What is one piece of advice you would give to incoming freshmen?
Live, laugh, love and enjoy every moment you have.
