On October 8, 2023, the Dallas Cowboys went up against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco. This heated rivalry between the two teams only added tension to the game, as a win would make the San Francisco 49ers remain undefeated. The 5-time Super Bowl Champions, the Cowboys, against the 6-time Super Bowl Champions, and the 49ers, respectively, hope to win a Superbowl this season. The game would end with the San Francisco 49ers winning 42-10 against the Dallas Cowboys leaving some fans speechless.
San Francisco 49er Quarterback Brock Purdy threw 252 yards and completed 4 Touchdowns. While Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott threw 153 yards, completed 1 Touchdown, and threw 3 interceptions.
“I don’t think the Cowboys will make it to the playoffs with Dak Prescott as quarterback,” said Giselle Castrejon (12).
Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback would have a frustrating night as he would throw 3 interceptions, turning over the ball to the 49ers. Throughout his career and counting this game he has thrown 69 interceptions. These interceptions would lead to the 49ers offense having more football possession and more chances of scoring. As of now, the Cowboy’s record is 3-2 and performances will have to improve if they want to make the playoffs and have a chance of winning the Super Bowl this year.
The San Francisco 49er quarterback Brock Prudy would have an excellent display of skill set and be the stand-out player of the game. He was named Mr. Irrelevant 2022, a name given to the last pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. Unlike his nickname suggests, he has proven to be a valuable quarterback for the 49ers.
“I’m a big fan of Prudy. His performance was good, given that it is his second year and he played well,” said Celeste Carmona (11).
This game proved the strengths of the 49ers while highlighting the flaws of the Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys’ next game will be against the Los Angeles Chargers at Sofi Stadium on Monday, October 16, 2023. The San Francisco 49ers will play against the Cleveland Browns at the FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
