Ariana Grande’s newest single “Yes, And?” received 11.2 million plays in the first 24 hours of its release, making it her largest debut on Spotify.

On January 12, 2024, singer Ariana Grande released her new single “Yes, and?” after not having released a single since “Die For You (Remix)” featuring Canadian singer The Weeknd.

Grande had not made any solo singles since the song “P.O.V.” for her Positions album.

After her 6th album, Positions, came out, Grande did not release much music due to her filming the new film of the Broadway musical Wicked and being a host for the 21st season of The Voice.

Her new pop/house song “Yes, And?” lasts 3 minutes and 35 seconds from start to finish. The song was released by Republic Records and produced by Grande, Max Martin, and Ilya Salmanzadeg.

The song was teased on December 7, 2023, along with a new album. Grande posted videos of herself in the studio producing and recording some songs in which the songs were on mute. On January 7, 2024, Ariana posted a picture of the song cover and the release date in the caption.

The cover art is a close-up of Grande’s face with bright red lipstick, partially revealed in R.E.M. beauty packages, her makeup brand, with a note that said, “See you next year.”

Although the song is fun and has a catchy beat, based on the lyrics, it is a clapback to the people who have criticized her in the past few months. Recently, the media have talked about her weight loss and allegations of being a homewrecker due to her divorcing her ex-husband Dalton Gomez, as well as rumors of her starting a relationship with Ethan Slater, which Grande has not confirmed. Despite what online bullies could be saying, the song has also been speculated about her self-empowerment and self-love.

“Yes, And?” received 11.2 million plays in the first 24 hours of its release, making it her largest debut on Spotify.

The music video for the song was released 10 hours after the official song’s release. The start of the music video shows people presumed to be critics walking into a building to watch Grande perform. The building where the footage was shot was the Grand Hall of Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn, New York.

As of January 17th, 2024, Ariana Grande posted on her Instagram about a new song called “Eternal Sunshine” coming out on March 3rd, which should be exciting for her fans.
